I'm too tired to use spell check part 2

[excerpt from an email to my family]
i'm pooped.  had BAD gas/slight diarrhea (SORRRRRYYYYYYY too much information!) last night and had to stay home from a fancy dinner....which i didn't mind, because i just wanted to sleeeeeeep. i'm feeling 100% better now... so THAT's good.

I suck at shopping....i keep forgetting my calculator.  I bought 2 nifty ultra indian dresses last night, and we went out shopping today and i bought 2 indian shirts (i feel like the gross girl of the group who wears the same outfit three days in a row...ugh). I thought more girls in the group were going to be "roughing it" with me.  Apparently not.... Pretty much I blew through $60 without even realizing it. but yeah...i'm the Peppermint Patty of the group. http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-set?.out=jpg&id=VCH4ndk13hG9F2pIbTTARg&size=l

We had orientation yesterday and today at the school and the hospital. LOTS of walking around....LOTS OF IT.   I'm glad I bought new scrubs...much cooler.  It is SO hard trying to understand what the nurses/instructors are saying. Today we broke up into smaller groups of 3-4, and the instructor oriented us to the ICU and pediatric department.  She was speaking so fast....and everyone was zoning out after a while....so like it always seems to be....she talked to me the whole time.  MY BRIAN HURTS SO MUCH!

Yesterday, we were able to see the anatomy lab...COOLEST THING EVER! It's like my coffee table book...but in person.  Body parts sliced up and put on display.   The next room over, we were able to see the bodies as well. There were two GIANT concrete vats of about 20 bodes each in embalming fluid.  They sit there for 3-4 years before use.   THEN there were smaller metal vats of straight body parts.   Arms, Legs, Kidneys, brains, hands, hearts, the works!    I MISS ANATOMY. Gina and I were the ONLY two who were all up in that business.   Everyone just kind of watched from a distance.

The last leg of our tour was the forensics department.  BRUTAL....weirdest pictures i have ever seen in my entire life. Bullet wounds from various distances, hangings, accidental deaths, a live display of all the blunt and sharp weapons used in the area, scalded people...suicide via dump truck.   yuck. needless to say, that day required a LOT of mental processing.

We toured the hospital today, and I was very surprised what it was like.   It wasn't clean, but people weren't laying on the floor with flies in their eyes, either. We got to see EVERY SINGLE DEPARTMENT...which got old fairly quickly.  They have a lot of new/modern technology (CT scan, MRI)...and LOTS of old.   The nurses wear saris or scrubs...AND sandals.   Most of the hospital requires you to keep your shoes off.  CRAZY. I don't know how you can stand on the MARBLE floors all day long like that.  (RNs work8 hr shifts/6 days a week).   Speaking of hurting feet...

today at 6 AM (!!!) we took our first dance lesson.  most of it consisted of stamping our heels on the ground. ouch. mom would like it.  but i'm sure her ankles would be HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I've been taking a descent amount of pictures.  Today we went shopping, and I was able to take more "scenic" photos.  India is a crazyyy colorful place....but I like taking  black and white photos the most.   It captures something completely different.

The kids are ADORABLE here. We drive around in a yellow school bus.  ALL the kids wave at us. SO cute.

The driving here is RIDICULOUS....mom would TOTALLY have a heart attack.  I think it's so much fun.    That has to be my favorite part of the trip thus far.  Driving around-on the verge of hitting someone, or being hit ourselves. I don't know how to describe it, but this sense of peace just comes over me. nifty.  Pedestrians. DEFINITELY don't have the right of way here...all out craziness.  I definitely have some video footage of traffic....and will definitely have more.

When shopping today, we were able to walk IN/alongside the traffic. talk about adrenaline rush.   The nursing instructors took us out....VERY trustworthy women.
I feel like I'm forgetting something.....

till next time!!!
