I'm sitting in the computer lab at the PSG campus. There's AIR CONDITIONING in the lab. Phew! It's veryyy humid here, and supposedly it's rather cool today compared to earlier this week (greeeeat). It's been raining, but it's breezy, so it's really neat!
My flights went AMAZING well! THANK GOD! No problems with tickets, lost luggage, or sickness, etc. Each airport that we went to, there was someone there who TOTALLY helped us out. The Mumbai airport was NOT AT ALL as bad as the blog was warning about.
My backpack already broke. WOO. The "male end" of the hip belt buckle somehow came off. So I'll have to do a lot of pre-planning for our long trip.
Everyone at the campus is extremely nice, and the food is pretty good. LOTS of rice, curry, egg, etc. They have water purifiers in our dorm room, so I've been using that. It tasted good. The only thing that's awful is the water bottle filter from Claire. I don't know if i need to keep flushing it out, but the taste is putrid. I saved two water bottles from the airlines--- so I can still steri pen the crap out of the water in the water bottle..(sans filter) and then transfer it over to the recycled bottles.
I couldn't really sleep on the plane. I sat next to a REALLLY cute Londoner on the SFO to LHR flight...so I didn't sleep too well. The babies that sat next to us DIDN'T MAKE A PEEP!!!!! At the SFO airport, I caught a few z's..but it's very noisy there. I decided not to sleep on the SFO-BOM flight in order to sync my sleeping pattern to coimbatore time.
The rooms are a descent size, and I was able to set up my tent easily. The bed is HARDDDDD, but I stole blankets from each of the flights, so i have some extra padding.
We just met the Ex-Prime minister if India. AH! We're having a special lunch/dinner with him as well. Good thing I brought a skirt with me. I DEFINITELY need to go shopping. We stand out like an INFECTED puss-filled thumb. The flight from BOM-CJB was FILLED with men. we were the last on the plane, because we didn't realize that they were boarding (the sign just said "security"...no other gate information. Thank GOD Michelle realized it was boarding when it did). Anyway, it was the LONGEST walk down the aisle I have ever done. EVERYONE was staring at us, and most likely, talking crap. It was definitely an experience!!!
The girls are really cool, and I'm SO glad that I'm getting to know them!!!
I think it's almost time for lunch! YAAY. I'm SOOOO glad that I brought snacks with me. I don't need them yet....but even just a bite of my melted/mostly consumed/forgot-i-put-it-in-
check out micaleen.blogspot.com she has a VERY up to date blog, due to the fact that she has an international cell phone, and can shoot her emails to her mommie! (luckyyyy!!!!!)
